The City Boy Movement has mobilised Christian leaders in Adamawa and Taraba to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Mr Belusochukwu Enwere, former National Chairman, Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.
Enwere explained that the engagement was led by the movement’s Directorate of Christian Religious Affairs in Yola and Jalingo.
He said that the meeting brought together leaders of various Christian denominations, youths, women and the leadership of CAN to canvas support for the Tinubu and promote peaceful political participation.
He urged the participants to take messages on the administration’s policies to their churches and communities to strengthen grassroots awareness and support.
Enwere emphasised the importance of engaging religious leaders and community stakeholders in political mobilisation, noting that their influence shapes opinions and encourages civic participation.
He added that the meeting focused on promoting peaceful participation in the electoral process, encouraging participants to mobilise voters without violence, intimidation, or actions capable of disrupting public peace.
He stressed the need for political engagement through dialogue, persuasion and issue-based campaigns, urging Christian leaders to exercise their democratic rights responsibly.
“The initiative is part of the City Boy Movement’s broader efforts to expand grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
“By engaging Christian leaders, women, and youths, the directorate seeks to strengthen outreach to faith-based communities,” he said.
Enwere expressed optimism that sustained engagement would help communicate the administration’s intentions to the grassroots to secure increased support and promote unity, tolerance and non-violent political engagement in Adamawa and Taraba. (NAN)
