Family Homes Funds Ltd. (FHFL) has unveiled a new brand identity as part of efforts to address Nigeria’s housing deficit and expand access to single-digit mortgages.

Mr Ademola Adebise, the Chairman of the Board of FHF, stated this during  the unveiling ceremony in Abuja on Wednesday.

Adebise said the rebranding marked the organisation’s transition into a new operational phase focused on delivering sustainable and climate-resilient housing across the country.

Adebise said FHFL, which commenced operations in 2016, had evolved to address financing gaps in the housing sector, adding that the rebranding went beyond a change of logo.

According to him, the new identity represents freshness and innovation, particularly in making homeownership more accessible to Nigerians.

“The rebranding exercise is basically not just a change of logo, but to show our commitment to solving housing problems in Nigeria.

“It represents freshness and innovation in housing. It represents our ability to ensure that the average Nigerian is able to afford mortgages to buy their own houses,” he said.

Adebise said the organisation would also promote sustainable housing through energy-efficient and climate-resilient homes.

“The rebranding represents innovation in the sense that we are coming up with sustainable houses that are energy-efficient and climate-resistant.

“We’ll do our own bit to reduce the shortfall in housing in Nigeria. Every Nigerian, especially first-time homeowners, should be able to access mortgages at single digits,” he said.

He reiterated the organisation’s commitment to reducing the country’s housing deficit through its financing interventions.

Also speaking, Mr Abdul-Mutallab Mukhtar, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FHFL, described the launch as an important moment for the company.

Mukhtar said the new direction would help the organisation build more houses and reach more people across Nigeria.

“We are most delighted to have reached this very important juncture, which basically resets Family Homes Funds and launches our transition to greater heights.

“This is a wonderful beginning, we celebrate what we have done so far and aspire for a lot more,” he said.

In his remarks, the Executive Director of Operations, Dr Emeka Inegbu, said FHFL was implementing housing interventions through four major funds.

He listed the interventions as the Affordable Housing Fund, Rental Housing Fund, Home Ownership Fund and the recently launched Lands and Infrastructure Fund.

Inegbu explained that the funds supported affordable housing development, rental accommodation, homeownership and infrastructure needed to facilitate housing projects.

He said that the company provided homes for vulnerable people, including widows, poor women, and wives of fallen soldiers.

According to him, the organisation has inaugurated 100 housing units in Kaduna and 50 units in Ibadan, while another 50 units were being developed in Calabar.

The executive director said the organisation hoped to extend its interventions to more underserved communities as funding became available.(NAN)
