Mr  Udengs Eradiri, Director of Media of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Bayelsa chapter, has commended Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike for mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Eradiri also urged APC governors and political stakeholders, particularly in the North, to intensify mobilisation, saying Tinubu needed another four-year term to consolidate his economic reforms.

He made the call in a statement  on Thursday, praising Tompolo’s door-to-door campaign and Wike’s town hall meetings and stakeholder engagements under the Rainbow Coalition.

Eradiri, a former President of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) and former Bayelsa Commissioner for Youths and Environment, said Tompolo had demonstrated commitment by investing resources in the President’s re-election campaign.

He said Tompolo understood the significance of Tinubu’s economic decisions and had continued to mobilise support across the Niger Delta and other parts of the country.

“Even outside what we see on camera, Tompolo is reaching out to various stakeholders and holding underground discussions to explain to  what the President is doing and to convince them to support his re-election bid,” he said.

Eradiri also commended governors and political leaders who had commenced mobilisation in Kaduna, Katsina, Imo and Rivers , urging others to follow their example.

He particularly praised Wike for engaging stakeholders in Rivers and Abuja through the Rainbow Coalition, saying the FCT minister had worked to reconcile political interests in Rivers  in support of Tinubu’s re-election.

Eradiri, however, warned APC leaders against complacency, stressing that electoral success required early planning, sustained engagement and active participation by party members.

“We don’t believe in luck; we believe that the benefits of success will gravitate toward any man who works hard ,” he said.

He challenged opposition parties to begin their own preparations early, warning against raising allegations of electoral malpractice after an election without matching their opponents’ organisational efforts.

“The APC structures are planning and working hard to win the election, crossing the Ts and dotting the Is. The results will surely show in the election,” he said.

Eradiri also urged the Tinubu administration’s supporters to explain the rationale behind its economic reforms to Nigerians dissatisfied with their immediate effects.

He acknowledged that changing an established economic system could cause short-term hardship but argued that the reforms were intended to reposition the country for long-term prosperity.

He maintained that four years was insufficient for the reforms to deliver their full impact, insisting that Tinubu needed a second term to consolidate the policies.

“We have always believed that four years is not enough for true change and impact in a society. To consolidate on these reforms, the president surely needs a second term of four years to make it eight years,” he said.

Eradiri further urged northern political leaders to support Tinubu’s re-election, arguing that a second term would allow the South to complete its expected turn in the country’s power-rotation arrangement.

He said this would provide an opportunity for younger northern politicians to assume leadership afterwards and sustain what he described as the administration’s development trajectory. (NAN)
