Dr Nonye Soludo, wife of Anambra Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has urged Nigerians to embrace peace, kindness and dialogue in resolving differences to build a peaceful society.
Soludo made the call on Friday in a message to mark the 2026 International Day of Non-Violence, with the theme, “Non-Violence as a means to Peace and Development”.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that International Day of Non-Violence is marked annually on Oct. 2, to honour the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and spread his message of peace.
The governor’s wife said that peace began with individual choices, words and the way people treated one another.
“May we always raise a generation that chooses dialogue over conflict, kindness over cruelty and love over violence.
“A peaceful society is a responsibility we all share. Choose peace first always,” she said.
Soludo urged individuals to make peaceful conduct a priority in their daily interactions, stressing the need for collective responsibility in promoting a violence-free society.(NAN)
