Mr Gbenga Abiola, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), Agege Constituency I, has pledged quality representation and development for his constituents.
The News Agency Nigeria (NAN) reports that Abiola made the pledge on Saturday while meeting with party stalwarts, chieftains and campaign zonal coordinators in Agege.
He said his legislative agenda would focus on grassroots development, empowerment and creating opportunities for residents.
The candidate, popularly known as “Agbelebu”, said he would prioritise youth and women development, capacity building and accessibility.
“Our focus will be on quality representation, capacity building, grassroots development, youth and women empowerment, accessibility and creating opportunities for all,” he said.
Abiola said his campaign was more than a political journey, describing it as a call to service and a commitment to improving the lives of residents.
“Every great journey begins with faith, and as we kick off our campaign, we gather in prayer, placing our ambition, our purpose and the people of Agege Constituency 0I in the hands of God.
“This is more than a political journey. It is a call to service, a commitment to the people and a vision for a better Agege Local Government,” he said.
He said members of different faiths would remain united in seeking wisdom, strength and grace to serve the people.
“When God is at the beginning, we trust Him with the journey and the victory.
“With faith in our hearts and the people in our purpose, we move forward,” Abiola said.
NAN reports that Abiola is seeking to succeed Dr Mudashiru Obasa, the incumbent Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, who is contesting for a seat in the House of Representatives. (NAN)
