The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has reiterated its commitment to support the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to ensure the safety and security of all residents across the council.
The Vice Chairman of AMAC, Mr Mohammed Nadabo, gave the assurance on Wednesday at the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) meeting held in Kurudu, Abuja.
Nadabo, who is currently serving as Acting Chairman while the Executive Chairman, Christopher Maikalangu, is on an official working visit to the United States, issued a stern warning to criminal elements operating within the municipality.
He emphasised that under Maikalangu’s leadership, the council maintained zero tolerance for crime, warning that perpetrators would find no safe haven anywhere within the area council.
”Let it be known that criminals have nowhere to hide in AMAC.
”We are fully committed to protecting our citizens, and the Area Council will continue to provide the necessary support and resources to the Police and sister agencies to track down, arrest, and prosecute anyone threatening the peace of our communities,” Nadabo said.
He commended the officers and members of the PCRC for their proactive efforts in fostering synergy between local communities and law enforcement officials, noting that effective community policing remained crucial to eradicating crime.
The acting chairman further assured participants that the Area Council would remain steadfast in partnering with the police to enhance intelligence sharing, strengthen community safety networks, and maintain law and order across wards. (NAN)
