The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tinubu is in Akwa Ibom for a two-day working visit.

He said that the seaport being a strategic maritime project would reshape the economic landscape of the South-South region and Nigeria at larg.

Tinubu said that the deep seaport would deliver substantial economic benefits, facilitate trade, and open new frontiers of development.

He also promised to expand opportunities in education, employment and skills development, saying that the state would benefit from his administration’s economic transformation agenda.

The president urged Akwa Ibom people to embrace education, acquire relevant skills and participate actively in the democratic process.

He called on residents of voting age to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards, describing it as their instrument of political influence.

The president further urged Akwa Ibom people to support the All Progressives Congress, and massively vote for all the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections

“Your PVC is the weapon you need to defeat tyranny, defeat those who do not appreciate the value of a growing economy, and the value of promising prosperity,” Tinubu said.

Earlier in his remarks, Gov. Umo Eno, described the president’s visit as a demonstration of the strong relationship between the Federal Government and the State.

Eno identified the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a major Federal Government’s interventions in the state.

The governor also thanked the president for the establishment of a Federal University of Agriculture at Obio Akpa.

Eno said that the Ibom deep seaport would be more than a maritime facility.
