Inauguration
Gov. Umaru Bago of Niger has charged the six newly appointed commissioners to be diligent and committed to effective service delivery in their respective ministries.
Bago gave the charge on Monday, while inaugurating the commissioners at the Council Chamber of the Government House, Minna.
He urged the commissioners to put in their best and discharge their responsibilities in the interest of the people of the state.
The governor said permanent secretaries in the ministries had been directed to provide the new commissioners with detailed reports on the activities and operations of their respective ministries.
According to him, the reports will enable the commissioners to understand the state of affairs in their ministries and effectively take up their responsibilities.
Bago urged the new appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them by contributing to the development of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Chief Magistrate I, Murtala Ibrahim, administered the oath of office and allegiance to the six commissioners.
NAN also reports that the governor assigned portfolios to the new commissioners.
Prof. Isah Adamu was assigned to the Ministry of Rural Development, while Mohammed Garba was assigned to the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education.
Lucky Barau was assigned to the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, while Emmanuel Alamu will oversee the Ministry of Special Duties.
Others are Isah Wakili, assigned to the Ministry of Sports, and Saidu Shuaibu-Kaboji, who will head the Ministry of Commerce.
