Gov. Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State on Saturday, directed the immediate removal of the Commissioner for Works, Mr Stanley Mbam, from office.
Nwifuru, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr Monday Uzor, directed Mbam to hand over all government property in his possession, including official vehicles, to the Secretary to the State Government.
“Mbam is directed to transfer responsibilities to the permanent secretary in the ministry,” he said.
The governor assured the people of the state of his administration’s focus on delivering effective governance and improving public infrastructure.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that no official reason was given for the governor’s decision.
NAN, however, reports that there has been increased public outcry over delayed delivery of infrastructure by the Nwifuru-led administration. (NAN)
