
Olasumbo gave the advice at the pulling-out parade and retirement ceremony organised in her honour by NCoS on Friday in Ibadan.
The retired coordinator reminded officers of the service that their uniforms symbolised sacrifice and honour.
She urged them to be prepared to take any challenge that may come their way in the line of duty.
According to her, serving with integrity and patriotism will definitely bring about some challenges.
” When I joined the service years ago, I came as a young officer with determination and dscipline to serve my nation with integrity.
” I encountered some challenges that tested my patience, courage and leadership but all helped to shape the person and officer I am today.
” Serving alongside dedicated men and women in uniform has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.
“We maintained peace, enforced discipline, protected lives and upheld the values and reputation of the Nigerian Correctional Service and Nigeria,” Olasumbo said.
The retired zonal coordinator gave gratitude to God for sparing her life , her families for their patience and sacrifices as well as others who stood by her throughout her service years.
In his remarks, the Oyo State Controller of Corrections, Mr Osogun Olusegun described Olasumbo as a seasoned officer who listens with a mother’s heart and led with exemplified loyalty and transparency.
Also speaking at the occasion, retired DCG Benson Victor described the retired zonal coordinator as very humble and dedicated officers.
Speaking on behalf of other service chiefs, an Assistant Controller of Immigration, Mr David Awe, said Olasumbo contributed immensely to the service and her contribution would continue to inspire others still in service.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr Sunday Oluyole, said the retired zonal coordinator had made their family proud due to her contribution to NCoS and Nigeria in general.(NAN)
