The newly appointed Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone 10 Headquarters, Sokoto, Mr Ahmed Musa, has urged officers and men  to remain disciplined, professional and committed to their duties.

Musa, who assumed duty as the 25th AIG of the Zone, pledged to strengthen security and enhance public confidence in policing across Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.

This is contained in a statement on Monday in Sokoto by ASP Abdallah Ambursa, the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Zone 10.

Musa, a former Commissioner of Police in Sokoto State, was previously the AIG in charge of the Community Policing Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Musa in his maiden address to officers and men of the zone,  also called on members of the public to support the police with credible and actionable information to enhance crime prevention and detection.

Musa reaffirmed his commitment to intensifying efforts to combat violent crimes across the zone in collaboration with other security agencies.

He further pledged to strengthen cooperation with the Armed Forces, sister security agencies and other critical stakeholders to sustain peace and ensure a safer environment in the three states.

“My doors will continue to remain open to enable members of the public to connect with the zone on all police matters,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Musa assumed leadership of the zone following the retirement of his predecessor, AIG Augustine Grimah.
