Seyi Makinde, the Allied People’s Movement (APM) presidential candidate, has pledged inclusive governance and reforms to tackle insecurity, poverty and other national challenges if elected in 2027.

Makinde, the Oyo State governor, made the pledge at the APM North-East Town Hall meeting in Yola on Saturday.

He said his administration would put Nigeria on the right track and improve citizens’ lives through reforms across various sectors.

According to him, power-sharing under his administration would not favour any particular part of the country.

Makinde explained that the delay in releasing his manifesto was deliberate, as he wanted to hear from Nigerians and incorporate their needs into his policies.

He said his administration’s reset agenda would address insecurity, poverty and other challenges confronting the country.

“I promise you, the North-East and the people of Nigeria, that we will be sincere in finding solutions to the challenges we are facing in the country.

“We will ensure we tell you exactly what is happening and listen to you, as solutions can come from anywhere,” he said.

In his remarks, Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State urged party supporters to vote for the APM in the 2027 general elections.

Mohammed described the party as capable of leading Nigeria to the promised land, adding that its candidates were young, credible and ready to deliver.

Similarly, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Haske, the APM governorship candidate in Adamawa, thanked Makinde for choosing the state to host the North-East meeting.

Haske described the APM as the party to beat in the region and pledged to strengthen its presence from political wards to local communities.

He urged supporters to remain committed to the party to ensure its victory in the forthcoming elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that party stakeholders from Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, Adamawa and Yobe states attended the meeting. (NAN)
