The Police Command in Lagos State is committed to strengthening collaboration with the Lagos State Health Service Commission to enhance security and improve public service delivery across the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Tijani, made the commitment, during a courtesy visit by the chairman and members of the commission to the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
This is contained in a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, on Saturday in Lagos.
Adebisi said that the delegation was led by the Chairman of the commission, Dr Olukayode Oguntimehin.
Other members, he said, were Dr Ogboye Olusegun Abayomi, Dr Odunuga Omolaja Olushola, Dr Adejumo Moyosore Wuraola and Dr Ololade Fadipe.
The spokesperson stated that the visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to deliberate on areas of mutual interest.
He said the visit aims to strengthen existing ties in pursuit of improved service delivery to residents of the state.
She said discussions centred on enhancing collaboration between both parties, particularly in providing security for healthcare facilities.
‘’It is also centred on improving police support for health institutions and promoting a safer environment for healthcare workers and patients, ‘’ she said.
Adebisi said that the CP appreciated the delegation for the visit and described inter-agency collaboration as critical to effective governance and sustainable development.
“The CP reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining a strong working relationship with the commission and other government agencies.
“Tijani said collective efforts are essential to improving public service delivery and enhancing the safety and well-being of Lagos residents.
“The commissioner also assured the delegation of the command’s continued support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the healthcare system and promoting public safety across the state, ” she said.
She said that the commission, on its part, expressed its readiness to sustain collaboration with the police command.
According to her, collaboration in areas that will enhance security around health facilities and improve service delivery for the benefit of Lagos residents. (NAN)
