Kano, June 9, 2026 (NAN) The Commissioner of Police, Kano Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu-Bakori, has decorated 956 officers with their new ranks and charged them on professionalism and integrity while discharging their duties.
Adamu-Bakori gave the charge at the decoration event on Tuesday at the command’s headquarters, Bompai, Kano.
He said the promotions cut across all 11 Area Commands, 78 Police Divisions, and other Police Formations under the Kano Command.
The CP conveyed congratulations from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu to all newly promoted personnel.
CP Adamu-Bakori commended the IGP for his sustained commitment to personnel welfare, career progression, and morale-boosting initiatives across the Nigeria Police Force.
He urged them to reciprocate the gesture through renewed dedication and exemplary conduct.
The CP emphasised that the promotion was strictly based on competence, seniority and merit, urging them to rededicate themselves to selfless service to the nation and to the people of Kano State.
Adamu-Bakori further urged the beneficiaries to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
“Be good ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force both on and off duty, exhibit conduct that inspires public trust and confidence in the institution,” he urged.
The Commissioner further reminded the officers that promotion comes with greater responsibility, and that the Command would continue to monitor performance and reward excellence.
Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated officers, Cpl. Saratu Yaru, expressed appreciation to the Police leadership for the promotion, and for the improved welfare packages under the current Inspector-General of Police.
She assured the Commissioner that they would not relent in giving their best in service to the nation, upholding the rule of law, and protecting the lives and property of all residents of Kano State.
“We see this promotion as a call to greater sacrifice, and we are committed to justifying the confidence reposed in us,” she said
