The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reiterated the importance of strict compliance with aviation safety and security regulations, urging passengers to adhere to established procedures at airports across the country.

FAAN issued this reminder, stressing that orderly passenger behaviour remains essential to safe and efficient airport operations.
The authority said the advisory is aimed at improving passenger awareness of security procedures, especially during peak travel periods when airports experience higher traffic.

Travellers were advised to cooperate fully with security screening processes, avoid carrying prohibited items in hand luggage, and comply with instructions from airport personnel at all times.

Aviation security experts note that many delays and disruptions at airports are often linked to non-compliance with basic safety procedures, including improper luggage handling and failure to observe screening requirements.

Passengers were also reminded that restricted items such as flammable materials, sharp objects, and power banks exceeding approved limits must not be placed in checked baggage, in line with international aviation safety standards.

Airport authorities further emphasized that security checks are not intended to inconvenience passengers but to safeguard lives and ensure the safety of all airport users.

They urged travellers to arrive early for flights, follow boarding procedures properly, and avoid actions that could trigger unnecessary security alerts or flight delays.

Aviation stakeholders also called for sustained public awareness campaigns to educate passengers on evolving safety regulations and reduce incidents of non-compliance.

They reaffirmed commitment to maintaining safe, secure, and efficient airport operations across Nigeria’s aviation sector.
