Mobilisation
Mr Felix Hyat, Director-General(DG) of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) National Campaign Council (NCC), has urged party stakeholders to intensify grassroot mobilisation toward Mr Seyi Makinde’s victory in the 2027 presidential elections.
Hyat made the call on Tuesday in Abuja at a meeting with APM leaders and stakeholders from his Kaduna South Senatorial District.
A statement by Mr Yamput Thompson, the DG’s Special Assistant on Media, quoted Hyat as equally urging Nigerians to give the party’s presidential candidate an opportunity to salvage Nigeria from its difficult situation.
He said that many Nigerians were experiencing hunger and poverty, which required a reliable person like Makinde to rescue them.
Hyat described Makinde as “a silent performer whose achievements were written in the annals of history.
“With Makinde in the lead, we shall rescue Nigeria. He has the capacity.
“He is well known; and with Lawan Daura, a security expert, as his vice, the duo can rescue Nigeria from its insecurity challenges.
“As stakeholders, we must all rise to the occasion and exert all our might; we must campaign vigorously to ensure that citizens come out en masse to vote for Makinde.”
Hyat said that Makinde has similarities with the late President Umaru Yar’Adua, who was known for his quiet disposition and notable achievements.
According to him, Nigerians must respect the gentlemanly agreement on power rotation by voting in Seyi Makinde to complete the eight-year term of the South.
“This becomes imperative simply because if Tinubu continues, Nigeria will not achieve much,” he said.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mr Ayuba Bako, had said that the group was in Abuja to congratulate the DG on his appointment and to assure him of their support in the mandate of ensuring Makinde’s victory in 2027.
Bako, former NUPENG Vice Chairman, described Hyat’s appointment as a welcome development which his people were proud of.
“We are particularly happy at the recognition and elevation.
“When we get back home, we shall intensify our grassroots mobilisation and ensure that people come out en masse and vote for Makinde,” he said.(NAN)
