The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has congratulated Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra on his appointment as the state coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign council.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr Ejimofor Opara, said this in a statement on Tuesday in Awka.
He described the appointment as recognition of Soludo’s leadership and commitment to progressive ideals.
Opara said the appointment aligned with the party’s position on strategic partnership between APGA and the Federal Government for the benefit of Anambra and the South-East.
He said APGA had formally adopted Tinubu as its consensus presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections at its National Executive Committee meeting and during the President’s working visit to Anambra on May 8.
“In line with this resolution, APGA did not field a presidential candidate for the 2027 elections,” he said.
According to him, Soludo’s mantra, “Progressives are Working Together,” reflected the party’s ideological alignment with the progressive movement at the national level.
Opara said the partnership had produced benefits for Anambra, including federal collaboration on critical infrastructure and economic development.
He reaffirmed the party’s position that Tinubu would be its preferred presidential candidate, while APGA would contest legislative seats in Anambra.
“In Anambra, it is Tinubu for President, APGA for Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly,” he said.
Opara expressed confidence that Soludo would use his organisational capacity and acceptance across the South-East to mobilise support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He described the appointment as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the party and the Federal Government. (NAN)
