Russia has resumed ballistic missile attacks on Ukraine after a pause of several nights, with the capital, Kyiv, coming under fire early Thursday.
Up to six repurposed Zircon anti-ship missiles were fired at Kyiv, according to military-linked Telegram channels, while there were reports of several heavy explosions in the city.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported damage to office buildings, a warehouse and a residential building, among other sites.
Klitschko said at least 11 people were injured in the attacks, while media reports indicated that water supplies were disrupted in some districts east of the Dnipro River.
The cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhya in southern Ukraine were also targeted with ballistic missiles, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Meanwhile, Ukraine attacked targets in Russia with combat drones, according to reports on Telegram channels.
The reported targets include the southern Russian city of Rostov and Yaroslavl, northeast of Moscow.
Several Russian airports temporarily restrict operations following the attacks, Russia’s aviation authority Rosaviatsia said.(dpa/NAN)(NAN)
