The Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Prince Usman Hamzat, has pledged the council’s partnership with motor dealers to promote regulated automotive trade in the area.
This is contained in a statement by Mr Lateef Salaam, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, on Wednesday in Lagos.
The statement said Hamzat gave the assurance when he received members of the Lagos State Motor Dealers Association, Ifako-Ijaiye Chapter, at the council secretariat in Lagos.
It said the delegation was led by the chapter’s Chairman, Comrade Ola Ajimo, alongside the Vice Chairman, Mr Segun Crown and Public Relations Officer, Mr Bosun Roland.
Ajimo said the visit was to seek collaboration in sanitising automotive business in Ifako-Ijaiye.
He said the association was committed to curbing illegitimate operations and boosting public trust in the sector.
Responding, Hamzat said the visit provided a platform to align the association’s goals with the council’s vision for sustainable commerce.
He said discussions focused on harmonising activities of motor dealers operating across the Ifako-Ijaiye axis.
He said emphasis was on developing a framework to sanitise automotive trade and curb illegitimate operations.
He reiterated his administration’s readiness to partner with stakeholders for a well-regulated business environment.
According to him, the partnership will help create a secure and thriving environment that benefits investors and residents. (NAN)
