
Olaniyi, whose address was not provided, is charged with conspiracy, forcible entry, malicious damage, threat to life, conduct likely to cause breach of peace, and unlawful possession of gun.
He, however pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Opeyemi Olagunju, said the defendant committed the offences in 2023, at Agudu Village, Elewura Village and Latunde Village.
Olagunju alleged that the defendant and others at large forcibly entered lands belonging to some people in the aforementioned villages and damaged plantations worth N50 million.
According to him, the defendant damaged cocoa plantations, banana, cassava and black pepper plantations belonging to some villagers represented by Mr Idowu Adebola and others.
He also alleged that the defendant threatened lives of some villagers and was found with a locally-made single-barrel gun.
Olagunju said the offences contravened provisions of Sections 81, 88(a), 249(d), 86, 451 and 516 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of two million Naira and two sureties in like sum.
Sanusi ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood relation to the defendant.
She adjourned the case until July 13 for mention. (NAN
