Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan defeated Enugu Rangers 3–1 on Sunday in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 32 clash. The match was played at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Ibadan side have won seven consecutive home matches, occupying fifth position on the league table with 50 points from 32 ma5ches.
Sodiq Ibrahim opened the scoring in the 49th minute, while Enugu Rangers responded in the 69th minute when Rangers team captain, Nwobodo Chidiebere, struck to level.
Desmond Ojietefisan restored Shooting Stars’ lead in the 78th minute, heading home a perfectly taken cross.
Shooting Stars coach, Nurudeen Aweroro, brought on Adams Mustapha and Adelowo Gbolagade for Lucky Emmanuel and Sodiq Ibrahim in the 85th minute to further boost his squad.
The substitution paid off as Adams Mustapha gave Shooting Stars a third goal in the 88th minute, giving the home side a comfortable lead.
NAN reports that Shooting Stars currently sit behind Nasarawa United, level on points but separated by goal difference.
