The Kano State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed four bills to establish health institutions aimed at improving healthcare delivery and expanding educational opportunities.
The bills were passed during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Jibril Ismail-Falgore.
They include the Kano State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Rogo Law 2026, and the Kano State College of Health Sciences and Technology Bill 2026.
Others are the Kano State College of Health Sciences and Technology Bill 2026, Bebeji, and the Kano State College of Public Health Sciences Bill 2026.
Ismail-Falgore (APC-Rogo) told newsmen that the bills would become law after receiving the assent of Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf.
He said the institutions would expand educational opportunities, stimulate economic activities, create jobs and improve healthcare delivery across the state.
The Speaker added that the institutions would also serve neighbouring local government areas in Katsina and Kaduna states, respectively.
In a related development, the Assembly urged the state government to construct a road linking Sarina Junction to Sarina town in Garko Local Government Area.
Presenting the motion, Murtala Muhammad-Kadage (APC-Garko) said the road would significantly improve residents’ welfare and economic well-being. (NAN)
