‌‍‌‍‍‍‍ The Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Movement, a political advocacy organisation, has appointed Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as its National Patron to strengthen its leadership and expand its nationwide activities.

The movement also appointed Alhaji Mahmoud Sheriff as its Patron in the state, alongside Mohammed Kassim as National Coordinator and Adedayo Showemimo as National Publicity Secretary.

The appointments were announced by the movement’s Founder, Chief Biodun Ajiboye, according to a statement by the organisation made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Abuja on Wednesday.

Ajiboye said the appointments were aimed at strengthening the movement’s leadership structure, improving coordination and expanding engagement with stakeholders across the country.

He described Yusuf’s appointment as significant, citing Kano’s political, commercial and socio-economic importance in Nigeria.

Ajiboye said the selection of Yusuf and Sheriff reflected the movement’s recognition of their leadership roles and contributions to public affairs.

He commended Sheriff’s contributions to the state and his support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He described him as a longstanding ally of the President, adding that his appointment was expected to strengthen the movement’s activities in Kano.

Ajiboye also expressed confidence that Sheriff would support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in its political engagements in the state.

According to him, the appointments were part of efforts to consolidate the movement’s activities and strengthen support for the Tinubu administration’s policies and programmes.

The founder described the positions of national coordinator and national publicity secretary as critical to the organisation’s growth and effective communication.

He said Kassim, as national coordinator, would oversee the coordination of the movement’s activities nationwide and facilitate communication between its national leadership and state chapters.

“Kassim would also supervise the implementation of approved programmes and ensure that activities across the organisation aligned with its objectives,” he said.

Ajiboye said Showemimo’s appointment reflected the importance of strategic communication and public relations in building the movement’s image and credibility.

“Showemimo, a media and public relations professional, will manage media relations, coordinate public communications and oversee the organisation’s image across traditional and digital platforms.

“His responsibilities will also include developing public relations strategies, managing official statements and strengthening relationships with media organisations,” he added.

Ajiboye said the movement’s activities had expanded to include government policy advocacy, public communication and engagement on the implementation of the renewed hope agenda.

He also said that the organisation would work with its patrons and other stakeholders to promote informed discussions on government policies, development priorities and issues affecting communities.

He said the patron positions were honorary, intended to provide guidance, institutional support and opportunities for broader stakeholder engagement.

He further reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to constructive engagement on government policies, particularly programmes associated with the Tinubu administration’s renewed hope agenda.(NAN)
