Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has promised land allocations and overseas postgraduate scholarships for his media aides in recognition of their contributions to promoting government policies and programmes.
Fintiri also pledged to sponsor qualified aides who meet the necessary requirements for master’s degree programmes in Turkey to enhance their educational qualifications and professional capacity.
The governor made the promises on Monday in Yola at a meeting with his media aides and those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Ahmed Tijjani Galadima.
He urged the media aides to remain united and intensify efforts towards ensuring the victory of all APC candidates, assuring them of his continued support.
Fintiri emphasised the need for continuity in governance, citing achievements of his administration, including the construction of 111 primary healthcare facilities across the state and the establishment of educational institutions from basic to university level.
He said the investments were aimed at improving access to healthcare and education, stressing the importance of sustaining development initiatives.
Earlier, the Adamawa APC Chairman, Hamza Madagali, acknowledged that disagreements within political groups were not unusual but urged the media aides to close ranks and remain committed to promoting the party and its candidates.
Similarly, the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Kamale, described the meeting as timely in view of the prevailing political situation.
He urged the media aides to take their responsibilities seriously and remain focused on the party’s objectives.
The Adamawa Central Senatorial Candidate, Salihu, cautioned the aides against witch-hunting, urging them to demonstrate loyalty to their leaders and work collectively towards the party’s success.
