La Campagne Tropicana Resort has invited Nigerian artists and artisans to apply for a two-month residency with financial and production support to develop new works.
The resort disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos.
The Chairman of the Residency Committee, Sen. Babafemi Ojudu, said the programme, scheduled to hold between Feb. 5 and April 4, 2027 at the resort, would enable participants develop projects, exchange ideas and explore the relationship between art, culture, place and tourism.
Ojudu said residents would receive accommodation, meals, travel and local transport support, materials, production assistance, a stipend, insurance and healthcare arrangements.
According to him, participants may pursue research, experimentation or new projects, drawing inspiration from the resort and its surroundings.
He said the call was open to practitioners in visual and applied arts, traditional crafts, design and related fields.
According to the Ojudu, the criteria for selection includes that the applicants must live in Nigeria, be at least 20 years old when the residency begins and be available throughout the programme.
He noted that the applications would be assessed on the quality of applicants’ practice, the strength and feasibility of their proposals, and their relevance to the residency.
He further noted that applications should be sent to arts@lacampagnetropicana.com by Nov. 30. (NAN)
