The Kogi Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Kingsley Fanwo, says the interventions of President Bola Tinubu and performance of Gov. Ahmed Ododo will boost support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Fanwo stated this on Friday in Lokoja while assessing the relationship between the Federal Government and Kogi Government, noting that ongoing projects and interventions were creating new opportunities for the state.
He said Federal Government interventions in Kogi, particularly in infrastructure, security, transportation, economic development and strategic investments, had provided tangible benefits to the people.
According to him, the reconstruction of major federal highways, support for security operations and development of strategic economic infrastructure have strengthened the partnership between the Federal Government and the state.
Fanwo said the Ododo administration had complemented the Federal Government’s efforts through investments in roads, healthcare, education, agriculture, security and rural development.
He said the combination of Federal Government interventions and state-level projects had given the APC what he described as a strong record to present to Kogi residents ahead of the 2027 elections.
“With what the President has done in Kogi, it will be difficult for other presidential candidates to mount a serious campaign in the state on moral ground.
“The President has given Kogi people reasons to appreciate his administration. The people can see the projects, interventions and opportunities that his administration has brought to the state.
“Politics is important but development is more important. The people are interested in what government is doing to improve their lives and expand opportunities for their children,” he said.
The commissioner said Kogi residents are paying attention to the benefits of the partnership between the Federal and state governments.
He stressed the need for continuity to ensure the completion of ongoing projects and expansion of economic opportunities in the state.
“We need continuity in the partnership between the Federal Government and the State Government.
“We need the roads to be completed. We need the airport to become operational. We need our economic corridors to expand, more investments and more opportunities for our young people. That is why continuity matters,” he said.
Fanwo said the APC would continue to engage with the people and communicate what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu and Ododo administrations as the 2027 elections approached.(NAN).
