Hajiya Lami Fintiri, wife of Adamawa governor, has empowered 1,200 vulnerable persons with N20 million alongside food and non food items.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 200 beneficiaries received  cheques of N100,000 each while 1,000 persons were presented with relief materials, including rice, vegetable oil, spaghetti, blankets and mats.

Speaking at the event on Tuesday in Yola, Fintiri said the empowerment programme was organised as part of activities to welcome the wives of Northern Governors to the second Tri-Annual meeting of the Northern Governors Wives Forum.

She said the initiative was aimed at strengthening women and young people by promoting economic independence, entrepreneurship, skills acquisition and sustainable livelihoods.

She   urged the  beneficiaries to use the support wisely and become agents of hope and positive change within their communities and the country.

“By equipping our people with opportunities and resources, we are investing in stronger families, resilient communities and a more successful future for Northern Nigeria,” she said.

The Governor’s wife described the gathering as an opportunity for the Governors wives to strengthen their relationship, exchange ideas and turn their shared vision to practical initiatives.

She commended members of the Forum for their commitment and compassion, while appreciating partners and stakeholders for their continued support.

One of the beneficiaries, Dije Mohammed, expressed appreciation for the assistance and pledge to use the financial support judiciously  to expand her petty business.(NAN)(NAN)
