) The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB), has commenced a four-day capacity-building training for head teachers and junior secondary school principals on school leadership.
The training, which was in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), also trained the participants on quality assurance procedures.
The News Agency of Nigerian (NAN), reports that the training aims to strengthen the leadership, management and supervisory capacities of school administrators to improve the quality of basic education across Kaduna state.
The programme was themed, “Improving the Capacity of School Leaders on Quality Assurance Procedures for Effective and Efficient School Administration.”
Declaring the training open on Monday in Kaduna, the Executive Chairman of KADSUBEB, Mubarak Mohammed, said the programme would equip school leaders with skills to improve school administration.
Mohammed, represented by the Director of Quality Assurance, Malam Sabi’u Barwa, commended UBEC for its sustained partnership and support in advancing basic education in Kaduna state.
He said the collaboration reflected the open and inclusive governance of Gov. Uba Sani, whose administration had created an enabling environment for development partners.
According to him, the administration’s approach has enabled partners to contribute meaningfully to the transformation of the education sector across the state.
Mohammed reaffirmed the Kaduna state Government’s commitment to providing equitable, inclusive and quality basic education for every child.
He urged participants to actively engage in the training and apply the knowledge gained to strengthen school leadership in their respective schools.
He also encouraged them to improve accountability and enhance service delivery through effective implementation of quality assurance procedures.
The UBEC Team Lead and Core Trainer, Mr Vincent Egwuzoro, urged participants to maximise the opportunity offered by the training.
Egwuzoro said effective school leadership remained fundamental to improving discipline, instructional quality and learning outcomes in schools.
He said the four-day programme would focus on school supervision, monitoring and evaluation, resource management and teacher support.
He added that participants would also receive training on implementing quality assurance standards in line with UBEC guidelines for effective and efficient school administration.(NAN
