The Charly Boy Foundation has offered free Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) screenings to members of the Nigerian Navy at the Naval Medical Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Maverick Nigerian entertainer and founder of the foundation, Charles Oputa, aka CharlyBoy, made the disclosure in a video shared on his social media pages.
In the footage that covered the exercise, the all-time social activist said the free screening was carried out in partnership with the Rotary Club of Bourdillon Prestige.
In an accompanying post, the “Areafada” said 120 men, including naval personnel and attending civilians benefited from the exercise.
The post reads: AREA FADA DON LAND NAVAL MEDICAL CENTRE!
“You fit wear uniform.You fit carry rank.You fit command battalion. But if your body wave white flag, all the shakara don finish.
“Na why we carry FREE PSA screening reach the gallant men of the Nigerian Navy and every civilian wey show face.120 men choose knowledge over ignorance.
“Because prostate cancer no dey salute rank. E no dey ask whether you be soldier or civilian. Health na the first uniform every man suppose wear.”
The Septuagenarian also appreciated the Admiral Superintendent and Managing Director of the
Naval Dockyard Limited, Rear Adm. Ibrahim Shehu. for offering his foundation the opportunity to serve them.
According to CharlyBoy, who survived prostate cancer, his foundation is spearheading a nationwide campaign because many men are dying in silence because they don’t talk about their prostate issues.
He said he has decided to use his personal experience to raise awareness about prostate health, specifically highlighting the importance of voluntary tests for early detection and treatment.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Charly Boy Foundation is a nonprofit organisation aimed at creating awareness about men’s health, focusing on mental well-being, diabetics and prostate health.
With support from donors, the foundation raises funds for comprehensive campaigns, outreach programmes, and treatment initiatives in order to significantly impact the health and well-being of men in Nigeria.(NAN)(
