The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has mourned the death of his elder brother, Adetunji Ogunwusi.
In a condolence message issued by the palace’s Senior Media Officer, Sodiq Lawal, Ooni described the deceased as a distinguished entrepreneur and compassionate philanthropist whose life impacted many.
Oba Ogunwusi said his late brother was a worthy son of Ile-Ife, whose remarkable life was defined by humility, integrity, entrepreneurial excellence and an unwavering commitment to humanity and service.
He noted that the death of his elder brother had created an irreplaceable vacuum within the Ogunwusi family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty and the entire Ile-Ife community.
The Ooni stated that the deceased built an enduring reputation for excellence, innovation and visionary leadership, establishing himself as one of Nigeria’s accomplished entrepreneurs through dedication, hard work and integrity.
He added that the late Ogunwusi served as Group Chairman of Primewaterview Holdings, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and business acumen.
The traditional ruler further described him as a compassionate philanthropist who quietly transformed lives through generosity, wise counsel, selfless service and unwavering support for many.
He said the deceased was a trusted confidant, dependable family pillar and a man whose honour, dignity and compassion would remain a lasting source of inspiration to relatives and associates.
According to him, his legacy extended beyond the business community, as he consistently upheld the noble values of the Ojaja royal family through exemplary conduct and humility.
The Ooni prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and urged family members, friends and the people of Ile-Ife to draw strength from his impactful life.
The statement added that the deceased was born on Dec. 8, 1967, into the family of Pa John Oluropo Ogunwusi of the illustrious Ojaja lineage of the Giesi Ruling House in Ile-Ife.(NAN)
