Ven. Amaechi Okwuosa , Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority has cautioned property developers in the state to always get approval to build or face the wrath of the law.
Okwuosa said this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Tuesday.
According to him, building without a plan has placed the state in bad shape and any property developer in the state who fails to follow due process would have himself to be blamed.
“ We have had enough of people doing things the wrong way, Anambra as a state has a standard it desired for its citizens and nobody would change the plan and go unpunished,” he said
He said that the 2020 would bring in good fortune to the state and urged developers across the state to always secure approval for their building plans through relevant authority.
“ The developers should be partners in development and growth of the state and not working against its plan,” he said
Okwuosa said that securing approval for buildings would enable the authority have access to quality inspection of such structure from the on-set to completion where expert owould review their building plans.
“ We need to put a stop to building distortion and collapse in the state as such the authority would apply all its techniques to ensure that standard were maintained in all structural development of the state.,
Okwuosa, said that developers should engage the services of professionals in discharging their duties to curb building collapse and save lives and properties.
He also advised residents of the state to ensure that their immediate environments were secured to avoid sharp activities going on around their homes.
