African Youth Month: Key into useful initiatives, Dare advises youths
Minister of Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare says Africa Youth Month (November) provides a platform for Nigerian youth to key into initiatives that can make them resourceful.
In his Twitter handle @sundaydareSD, Dare called on Nigerian youths to join in the activities marked for the celebration of the resourcefulness of the African youth.
“This month, you have a chance to be among one million young Africans that will benefit from direct opportunities in the areas of education, employment, entrepreneurship and engagement.

He observed that November is designated as the Africa Youth Month by the African Union (AU) as a clarion call to the need for the development of all youths by stakeholders.

The AU is celebrating Africa Youth Month with the theme “One Million by 2021: Count Me In!”

The AU Charter adopted in 2006 proclaims November 1 as Africa Youth Day and in 2019,  the commission is celebrating the youth in the entire month.

The commission, therefore, calls on all African youths to stand up and be counted as drivers of the one million by 2021 initiative towards youth empowerment.

According to AU, the aim of Africa Youth Month 2019 is to amplify a unified youth movement to transform education, employment, entrepreneurship and engagement.

To commemorate the celebration, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is celebrating the day with the inauguration of the National Youth Policy Pocket Size Edition and Application on Nov.12

Youths are expected to register at 2019 African Youth Day Celebration on docs.google.com to participate.
