The Chairman, Lagos State Chapter, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Apostle Alexander Bamgbola, has urged Nigerians to always pray for the country’s leaders with a view to building a great nation devoid of corruption and lawlessness.

Bamgbola spoke on Friday at a news conference to herald the 2019 Inter-Denominational Divine Service (IDDS) at Shepherd Hill Baptist Church, Obanikoro, Lagos.

He said that the IDDS, with the theme “Walking in the Perfect Image of God’’ would hold on March 23 at the church.

“The leaders in the country have lots of tasks ahead of them, as such, they need the prayers of everyone.

“It is the role of every Nigerian to constantly pray for the nation’s leaders,’’ the clergyman said.

Bamgbola said that the country would overcome its current challenges if Nigerians walk in the image of God.

“God will restore the lost glory and virtues of the country when we Nigerians will rise again, when we pray more; then we will have victory,’’ he said.

The CAN chairman said that this year’s IDDS is to give thanks to God for the peaceful elections in the Lagos State and across the landscape of Nigeria.

“On this day, Christians of every denomination come together in one spirit and one accord to pray, praise and worship the lord.
