The Ebba Community in New-Karu in Nasarawa state, has called on the State Government to help construct access road to the area.
Chief Maikefi Jonathan, the community leader disclosed this on Wednesday during a sensitisation visit on good governance “Vote for What Again”, by a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO)-Youths for Peace Building and Development in Africa and World Faith Nigeria (YOUPEDA/World Faith).
Jonathan also urged government to provide electricity and other infrastructure to the community.
“We don’t have roads, no electricity supply, our children go to school from the community all the way to Karshi on daily basis.
“We have politicians, who are representing us and for many years, we live without basic infrastructure, let them give us road before we give them another vote.
“Honestly, I support Vote for what Again campaign, “he said.
Jonathan commended YOUPEDA/World Faith for supporting the community in its self help project of building maternity hall at the primary healthcare centre in the area.
Mr Obi Peter Onyeigwe, the leader of the YOUPEDA/World Faith team had earlier commended Jonathan for his determination to bring change and development to the community.
According to him, the campaign focuses on citizens’ scorecard and critical assessment of elected representatives, before voting for them again.
“This give citizens opportunity to ask, what they are voting for again, if previously they voted for good education, roads, electricity and reduction of poverty, and their representatives failed to fulfill the social contract with the people,” Onyeigwe said.
